Frequently Asked Questions

What is sUAS-Logs?

sUAS-Logs is a drone flight logging platform for pilots and UAS teams. It brings flight records, pilot hours, aircraft and maintenance records, clients and jobs, and professional PDF or CSV reporting together in one place.

Why should I log my drone flights?

A flight log gives you a record of hours and role time for recurrent training and currency, documentation you can hand a client or employer, and a maintenance history tied to each aircraft. If you're ever asked to show your flight experience or a drone's service record, having it already logged beats reconstructing it from memory — or a spreadsheet you stopped updating three months ago.

Can I use sUAS-Logs as a Part 107 flight logbook?

sUAS-Logs is designed for Part 107 pilots. Your certificate number and recurrent training due date can be stored on your profile and included automatically in your PDF and CSV report headers.

Can I export my flight logs?

Yes. Export to CSV, PDF, or a print-ready view at any time, filtered by drone, date range, client, or job — organized however you need it for a client, employer, or inspector.

Does it track more than just total flight time?

Yes. Log flight time by role — RPIC, Visual Observer, Instructor, Night, and Simulator — tracked separately from your total hours.

Can I organize flights by client or job?

Yes, and it's fully optional. Turn on Clients and Jobs in Settings to group flights the way your work actually happens — or relabel "Job" as Sortie, Mission, or Project.

Is there a drone flight log app for iPhone?

Yes. sUAS-Logs is available on iPhone and on the web, with your logbook fully synced across devices. An Android app is in development.

Is sUAS-Logs really free?

Yes — sUAS-Logs is free to use. No credit card is required, and there are no per-pilot fees.

Does sUAS-Logs track drone maintenance?

Yes. Log service, repairs, and inspections per drone, and export your maintenance history as PDF or CSV alongside your flight logs.

Does sUAS-Logs record flight location and weather?

Yes, and both are automatic. GPS location and weather conditions are captured at launch with no manual entry — you can also type a location by hand or leave it blank if you'd rather not record it.

Is sUAS-Logs a flight-data analytics platform?

No. sUAS-Logs is a pilot logbook — it tracks flight hours, currency, FAA Part 107 recurrency, and client/job records. If you need automated telemetry parsing, battery-cell diagnostics, or fleet-wide mission planning, there are tools built for that. We built sUAS-Logs for a clean, fast record of who flew what, when, and for whom.
